Built Environment Primer for the Field

  • July 14, 2026
  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Online

Holly Borth will be presenting this session. Field technicians are often called upon to support built environment specialists during surveys and compliance work. This primer will provide a practical, accessible overview of what built environment professionals need from the techs in the field. It will cover how to recognize key architectural features, identify relevant contextual information, and produce clear, useful field notes. It will also offer guidance on taking effective, professional-quality photographs to ensure that documentation can be confidently used in evaluation and reporting. This training equips field staff with the tools to collect consistent, high-quality data, ultimately improving collaboration, reducing the need for repeat site visits, and supporting more efficient and accurate reporting. (And maybe some fun mobile home facts). Sign up for a spot in the Google Sheet linked here by adding your email address to the designated session. Thank you to our session sponsor, Willamette Cultural Resource Associates!
